One thing I have noticed, since beginning a daily yoga practice 10 years ago, is that I no longer yearn as much for holidays or space away from mundane daily life activities. This is because I incorporate a 'mini-vacation' into each day. This regular rejuvenation has led to less burn out and a greater ability deal with life's stresses. There are times however, when life does get particularly hectic or tough, and it is at these times I turn to the deeply restful practice of Yoga Nidra.
Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation that leaves you feeling rested and rejuvenated. This is one I made especially for Christmas and Solstice, because this time of year can leave us feeling depleted. Practices such as Yoga Nidra give the much needed daily recuperation to handle the hectic holiday season and maintain health and wellbeing.
1. Wear warm cloths and cover yourself with a blanket.
2. Lie down in Savasana.
3. Make sure you are comfortable and will not be disturbed for the practice.
3. Play the audio and follow the instructions (it's a good idea to use earphones, but not essential).
